Description: I've just installed version 7.6.7. But now I cannot open any existing document (mostly .ODT, but also .DOCX). Nor can I open a new text document. How can I get back to an earlier version that actually works? Actual Results: I am ham-strung until I can open text documents. Expected Results: Nil Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Open text documents, of course.
What happens exactly when you try to open a file? Any error message? A crash? If it crashes, do you get a crash report dialog? If so, please submit one and share the link to it. If you are able to open the Start Centre, or a different component to Writer (e.g. Calc, Draw...), please share the full version information copied from Help > About LibreOffice. Please also try to reinstall/repair the installation by running the installer again.
What happens? No report, no message. My attempt to open a file is simply ignored. Version information? I can still open and use spreadsheets with Calc. Version: 7.6.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: dd47e4b30cb7dab30588d6c79c651f218165e3c5 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Reinstall: Yes, I had already tried this. I've tried it again: no effect noticeable.
Thank you. You can get the older version from: https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/7.6.6.3/win/x86_64/ You can then confirm that the issue is a regression, if downgrading to 7.6.6.3 does fix the issue.
I have reinstalled vn. 7.6.6.3 (after having to uninstall 7.6.7.2 manually). Now I can read and modify my .ODT and similar files. Thank you.
