Description: Whenever I try to open/create a document, LibreOffice freezes and stops responding. I have tried safe mode, disabling hardware acceleration, and turning off my vpn to no change. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open LibreOffice 2.Attempt to open a document 3.Freeze Actual Results: LibreOffice freezes. Once, the freeze resolved after several minutes, but otherwise it's permanent and I was unable to reproduce the resolution, as opposed to the freeze, which happens every time. Expected Results: Document opens, editing begins. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 24.2.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d56cc158d8a96260b836f100ef4b4ef25d6f1a01 CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 12.4; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Thank you for the report. Can you please: - test version 24.2.3 to see if it is still reproducible - if the issue persists, backup and remove your user profile: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Manual_procedure_(all_versions)
Also: does it happen with all components? Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress...?
Tested the new version, still reproducible. It does happen with all components except the database. I tried safe mode and removing my user profile, but the same issue persisted.
Your OS is somewhat outdated. Could you update to 12.7.5 and see if that makes a difference. When the freeze happens and you wait for a few minutes, does LibreOffice return to usable state or are you stuck on the freeze even after lets say 5 minutes? If the problem persists, please create the following debug information: Spindump: * open Activity Monitor * search for Process Name LibreOffice * click cogwheel icon and select Spindump * Save Spindump output * attach the resulting file to this report here Process Sample: * open Activity Monitor * search for Process Name LibreOffice * click cogwheel icon and select Sample Process * Save Process Sample output * attach the resulting file to this report
Updating my OS seems to have fixed it. It's weird that I didn't update either the OS or Libre and yet this issue started.
