Description Archer Allstars 2024-05-09 14:08:59 UTC
Description:
The user can't manually set the appearance mode in the options. LO always follows the system theme, which means there's no difference between System, Light, and Dark modes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the options (Alt+F12).
2. Go to LibreOffice > View > Appearance > Mode.
3. Try choosing Light or Dark mode, LO won't change its theme accordingly.

Actual Results:
The theme doesn't change according to the set appearance mode.

Expected Results:
The theme changes according to the set appearance mode.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The only way I can force LO to use either Light or Dark mode regardless of the system theme is to use the environment variable. For example, in the Flatpak version, I put GTK_THEME=Adwaita as an environment variable using Flatseal.

Thank you for the report. I believe this is the same issue as in bug 153841, marking as a duplicate.
Please let us know if you think it's a different issue (i.e. also reproduced when GNOME uses light mode)
